Summer of 1776. Thirteen American colonies have declared independence from the British Crown. King George III has dispatched the largest expeditionary army in British history across the Atlantic: over 32,000 soldiers under General William Howe, supported by the fleet of Admiral Richard Howe. New York is the key to the Hudson Valley and the gateway to the heart of the colonies. The British are determined to break the rebellion with overwhelming force. The Continental Army must hold or die. The campaign runs from the British landing on Staten Island in August 1776 through the fall of Fort Washington in November 1776.

August 22, 1776. The British have landed on Staten Island with 32,000 men. General Washington holds Brooklyn Heights and Manhattan with an untrained but motivated army of 19,000. General Howe prepares an aggressive campaign to crush the rebellion. Choose your side and decide the fate of New York.

Règles de simulation
Each turn represents 3 days of game time. British AI acts with maximum aggression, seeking to encircle and destroy American forces at every opportunity. British fleet continuously bombards coastal positions and supports amphibious landings. Hessian units attack with relentless aggression and take few prisoners. American AI defends aggressively: counterattacks when possible, retreats only under pressure, and holds every position to the last. American units must defend fortified positions, delay the British advance, and preserve the army. American supply is scarce and morale drops sharply with each lost position. Winter approaches: after December 1, an army without winter quarters loses combat effectiveness. American victory requires preserving the army and holding at least one key point until December 1, 1776, or inflicting over 5,000 British casualties and evacuating successfully. British victory requires capturing New York and Fort Washington, or dispersing the Continental Army.
