Napoleonic Wars during the Blight Epidemic
Europe is engulfed in the Napoleonic Wars. After the catastrophic retreat from Russia, the remnants of the Grande Armée faced an inexplicable horror — the dead rise and kill the living. The Blight spreads through bites and scratches. Five hordes of shamblers — slow but incredibly resilient walking dead — roam near the Berezina crossing. The Duchy of Warsaw and the Kingdom of Naples fight for survival. American ships operate in the Atlantic. All European powers are forced to react to the new threat while continuing old wars.
1812. Napoleon's Grande Armée retreats from burned Moscow. At the Berezina crossing, retreating French soldiers encounter walking dead for the first time — the Blight. The player chooses one of the historical figures of the era and tries to survive and achieve their goals in a crumbling Europe.
Types of infected: Shamblers — slow, very resilient, can only be killed by destroying the brain. Runners — fast, aggressive, but fragile. Sappers — former military engineers with axes, break through barricades. Cuirassiers — former heavy cavalry in cuirasses, musket bullets cannot penetrate their armor. Igniters — former lamp service workers, set buildings on fire and spread flames. Anyone who dies from any cause in an infected zone may rise. Winter critically weakens the living, but the undead feel no cold. When a cell's infection level reaches critical (overrun), the territory falls under Blight control.
