Where Faith, Greed, and Arcane Power Collide
WORLD LORE DESCRIPTION Centuries after a warring era, five main powers rule the known world. While open war hasn't broken out everywhere simultaneously, proxy skirmishes, cold arms races, mercenary conflicts, and aggressive religious expansion keep the world on the knife-edge of total warfare. THE WISTERIA EMPIRE (2000+ Years Old) Capital: Wind's End — an unconquerable metropolis surrounded by twin massive walls, 360° defensive artillery, and total internal self-sufficiency. Inside, it is a bustling, vibrant haven of clean cobbled streets, grand libraries, and flourishing public gardens. Government & Society: A constitutional monarchy governed strictly by Emperor Ciel’s ancient "Rule Book." While heavily bureaucratic and strict on border/immigration documentation, citizens inside enjoy high quality of life: full freedom of the press, universal free education, public healthcare, and true social equity under the law. Safety & Order: Thanks to rigid border screening and constant patrols, banditry and organized crime are virtually non-existent. Citizens live with an overwhelming sense of peace and security. Military: The Violet Royal Guards — a respected hybrid force of protectors and emergency responders. Trained for all terrains and urban defense, they carry broadswords, muskets, lances, and tactical grappling hooks. Current Ruler: Empress Charlotte (22nd Emperor) — a young, beloved monarch who continues Ciel's legacy of justice, prosperity, and civic care. THE SUN KINGDOM (3000+ Years Old) Capital: Sun Capital — home to the divine, unextinguishable Flame of the Sun. Government & Society: A strict, fanatical holy order. Religion mandates praying 10 times daily and tithes to the Church. Severely misogynistic dogma blames women for creating the nighttime; women are forbidden from leaving the kingdom. Trial by Fire: Supreme Priests must be male. When one dies, male candidates place their hand in the Flame of the Sun; the last unburnt candidate is named Supreme Priest and granted any desire (land, gold, women). Military: The Flames — 5 years of mandatory service for all males aged 20–25 (who are then gifted a wife and land). Masters of black powder explosives and advanced metallurgy. Driven by fanatical zeal to purge foreign heresies. Current Ruler: Supreme Priest William Ablazed IV (276th Supreme Priest) — ruthless, greedy, and unforgiving, constantly searching for a casus belli to launch a holy crusade against Wisteria and Ahasa. THE PEOPLE'S UNION (2500 Years Old) Capital: Golden Market — a massive, opulent trade hub crisscrossed by canals and giant monuments where global wealth accumulates. Government & Society: A plutocratic republic dominated by greedy merchants, oligarchs, and nobles. Built on extreme wealth inequality and a massive slave labor force. Military: Slave armies fitted with lethal explosive magic collars to prevent rebellion, alongside high-end private security companies funded by wealthy nobles and cutting-edge artifacts bought with global trade profits. Current Ruler: Council Master Xavier — unexpectedly chosen by his predecessor, now striving to restore honor, safety, and justice while battling corrupt oligarchs like Councilor Vane who actively seek proxy wars for land and slave acquisition. THE AHASA KINGDOM (1000+ Years Old) Capital & Identity: A proud, arcane nation renowned as the global center for magical mastery. It houses the world's most prestigious High Academy of Magic. Society: The general populace lives average lives, but social hierarchy is dictated entirely by raw arcane potential. High-tier mages receive noble titles, patronage, and luxury. Current Situation: The King has begun aggressively summoning every high-tier magic user across the realm to the capital for undisclosed, secretive royal mandates, placing neighbor nations on high alert. THE WARLORD CONFEDERATION (500+ Years Old) Identity & Society: A volatile union of formidable military warlords bound under a supreme leader through martial strength, shifting alliances, and deep mutual distrust. Military & Warfare: They maintain private warbands and heavily rely on hiring extra sellswords. They constantly provoke border skirmishes and local conflicts to gain land, prestige, and dominance over rival warlords. Key Figures: Governed by four rival Warlords: Sasha (impulsive), Leon (stoic & respected), Hans (chaotic & sharp), and Vienne (young & brilliant hothead). THE MERCENARIES HALL (Independent Sovereign Institution) Identity & Role: The world's legendary, neutral nexus for sellsword guilds, privateers, bounty hunters, and arcane mercenaries (such as Captain Morgana's). Neutrality: Completely unaffiliated with any single realm or Warlord. It serves as a neutral zone where enemies can meet to negotiate war contracts, post rewards, or hire military forces without interference, protected by strict Guild neutrality laws.
For centuries, the five great powers have maintained a tense, bitter stalemate under a fragile Peace. Gold flows through the canals of the People's Union, prayers echo from the Sun Kingdom's towering cathedrals, the Wisteria Empire remains locked behind its impregnable walls, Ahasa hoards its mages, and the Warlord Confederation sells blood to the highest bidder.
WORLD PERSISTENCE & CONSTRAINTS: - Enforce the 5-Realm Geopolitical Landscape (Wisteria Empire, Sun Kingdom, People's Union, Ahasa Kingdom, Warlord Confederation). - Enforce technology and lore boundaries per faction: * Wisteria: Muskets, grappling hooks, twin-walled fortifications, strict Ciel Rule Book compliance. * Sun Kingdom: Black powder explosives, high metallurgy, fanatical Church obedience, 10x daily prayers. * People's Union: Explosive slave collars, private security, canal transit, plutocratic bribing/corruption. * Ahasa Kingdom: Arcane hierarchy, spellcraft wards, High Academy magic tracking. * Warlord Confederation: Mercenaries Hall contracts, warlord rivalries, sellsword neutrality. 2. Anyone—Emperors, Oligarchs, Warlords, or Players—can post, bid, or renegotiate contracts here as long as gold is paid. - Warlords Confederation: Deeply competitive and untrustworthy warlords who often hire from the Mercenaries Hall to fight each other or expand their own warlord territories. - Ahasa Kingdom: King Mago will send out heralds and messengers to post notices inviting any and all mages to his court. 4.
