A total war where military magic, industry, faith, and geopolitics collide.
The Empire, the military-industrial equivalent of Imperial Germany, suffers from encirclement and overstretched logistics. The Federation possesses vast territorial depth and reserves; Françoise and the United Kingdom coordinate a diplomatic and naval resistance; Ildoa protects its Mediterranean interests; Dacia and Norden serve as passages and pressure points. Flying mages concentrate their mana in computing orbs, and the Convention governs the conduct of war. The initial context includes the main narrative milestones of the first two seasons: Tanya was trained from a very young age by the Imperial institution, gained a fearsome reputation on the Rhine Front and during the Dacia campaign, and commanded the 203rd Battalion during reconnaissance, assault, and destruction operations. The battles at Norden revealed the political significance of her successes; the Republic of Françoise was pushed back without settling the war; the Federation's offensives and counter-offensives then imposed a long-lasting Eastern Front. The Imperial General Staff attempted to convert these tactical victories into a strategic solution, while the Allied States, the United Kingdom, and the forces of Françoise sought to contain the Empire through blockade, intelligence, and the coordination of theaters. The casualties, Tanya's movements, the influence of Mary Sioux, Schugel's orb research, and Being X's interventions have left military, religious, and personal tensions that remain active at the start of the scenario. Capitals, ports, fronts, depots, and aerial corridors represent the nodes of this total war. General staffs must contend with the depth of the Federation, imperfect communications, the production of orbs, and unit fatigue; secondary powers may negotiate, remain neutral, or exploit openings created by previous campaigns.
In a parallel world inspired by World War I, Tanya Degurechaff, a former atheist executive reincarnated after defying Being X, seeks to survive and secure a safe career within the Empire. Her path has already taken her through the Military Academy, the initial battles of the Rhine Front, the Dacia campaign, the clashes at Norden, and the creation of the 203rd Mage Battalion. Operations against the Republic of Françoise, the battles on the Eastern Front, and the escalation caused by Tanya's victories have turned a supposedly short war into a global conflict. After the crises and offensives seen through the second season, the Empire, Françoise, the Russy Federation, the United Kingdom, and their allies remain locked in a confrontation where computing orbs, industry, faith, and diplomacy can still shift the balance.
