A high school student has just swallowed a curse. The jujutsu world has two months until Shibuya.
Japan is home to a secret society of exorcists, structured around two technical high schools (Tokyo and Kyoto), a conservative High Council, and three great clans. This society remains fragile: few sorcerers reach the special grade, and its military power depends almost entirely on a single man. A concealment veil protects the civilian population from the existence of curses, creatures born from the negative cursed energy accumulated by the living. The twenty fingers of Ryōmen Sukuna, the King of Curses who was executed and dismembered centuries earlier, have been scattered and sealed for generations; their reunion is one of the society's foundational taboos. Beyond Japan's borders, independent foreign jurisdictions—in Russia, China, and the two Koreas—monitor their own cursed populations without automatically cooperating with the High Council.
On the night of September 10, 2018, in Sendai, a finger of the King of Curses was removed from its sealed box and swallowed by a high school student to save his classmates. This student now harbors Ryōmen Sukuna without the Jujutsu High Council knowing yet. According to the society's law, such a vessel must be executed on the spot. Around this event, official sorcerers, clans, curse users, and conscious curses pursue irreconcilable interests, each unaware of the true scale of what has just begun.
